Blood Pressure
High Blood Pressure is a silent killer in America. You don’t really feel if you have it but it puts a big stress on your heart. Normal blood pressure is 120/80 or lower. By the way high blood pressure is more dangerous than low blood pressure.
There are several things you can do to improve your condition:
1. You can limit your salt intake and reduce the sodium in your diet. Read the labels on packages. If it shows high sodium content don’t eat it.
2. Saturated and Trans fat is also not good for your blood pressure. You find it in meat and dairy products. Especially fried foods should be avoided.
3. Too much alcohol is bad for you period, but if you have high blood pressure you really should not drink.
4. Exercise is another very important factor to improve your life in many ways.
5. Get enough rest and meditation can change your life to the better.
6. Keep your weight down. Being overweight will raise your blood pressure in most cases.
7. Things you should eat when you have high blood pressure:
Fruits, vegetables, foods that contain potassium, calcium, and magnesium like bananas, broccoli, potatoes, avocadoes and cantaloupe and kidney beans.
Always check with your doctor, if it is enough to change your lifestyle and diet or if you also need some medication to lower your blood pressure. If you are already on medication, never stop taking it without asking your doctor.
